Southern Right Whales
Our Humpback Whale Prints collection celebrates these incredible whales as they pass the New South Wales coastline on their annual migration. From intimate close up moments to sweeping aerial perspectives, each image captures the calm power of humpbacks in Australian waters.
Humpbacks travel roughly 5,000 kilometres each way between Antarctic feeding grounds and warmer breeding areas, and the eastern Australian population is one of conservation’s great recovery stories, rising from a little over 100 whales when whaling ended to an estimated 24,000 in 2015 and a projected 40,000 more recently, now comparable to pre whaling levels.
